SEASON 2024

WEEK 7

Week HighOkashah150.1
Week LowIssa77.8
THE WEEKLY REPORT: the numbers are in and several of them are embarrassing.

Okashah annihilated Omar H. by 49.9, a score differential normally reserved for scrimmages against air. Zaid put 116.4 on Issa in a 38.6-point mugging that should interest law enforcement. Ahmad hung 132.5 on Karim and never looked back, winning by 35.3 in the week's designated execution. Yousef outscored Tarick 134.6-100.8, a sentence that fully captures the excitement level. Omar A. dispatched Mustafa 142.5-124.4 with the ruthless efficiency of a man deleting spam. Adel took care of Adil, 123.3-110.6, workmanlike and forgettable.

Week's best: Okashah with 150.1. Briefly competent. Mark the calendar. Week's worst: Issa with 77.8. Twelve managers, and one of them scored THAT.

Trade wire: Karim shipped out and Zaid bought in (Zay Flowers, Chuba Hubbard, Jordan Addison, J.K. Dobbins). One of them will regret this by December.

Championship watch: Ahmad keeps stacking points. Sacko watch: Issa. No further questions.

THIS WEEK IN LEAGUE HISTORY: This week in 2023: Adel handled Adil, 149.0-130.8. History remembers the winners. Barely.

This has been the report. Someone check on the losers.

Karim
(Hock Tua)
97.2@132.5
Ahmad
(Lucy's Finest)
Pregame · The Booth

The film doesn't lie, and unfortunately for one of these teams, I've watched it. The spread on this one is roughly Ahmad's ego, which is to say: enormous. 4-2 against 2-4 doesn't lie. Let's see whose projections were lies.

Postgame · The Booth

132.5-97.2, Lucy's Finest over Hock Tua. A professional beating. Not a memorable one, just a thorough one. Ahmad moves to 5-2. A real analyst would call that momentum. I'll call it a stay of execution. Karim falls to 2-5. The good news: it can't get worse. The bad news: I said that last week too.

Issa
(Shamjesus)
77.8@116.4
Zaid
(Bidet)
Pregame · The Booth

Welcome back to the only league where the tape never lies and neither do I. Bidet (2-4) versus Shamjesus (1-5). Vegas calls this a pick'em. I call it mutually assured mediocrity. My prediction? Pain. Beautifully quantifiable pain.

Postgame · The Booth

116.4-77.8, Bidet over Shamjesus. A professional beating. Not a memorable one, just a thorough one. A combined 194.2 points. I've covered scoreless soccer friendlies with more offense. Both lineups should apologize to the sport. Shamjesus posted 77.8, the league's worst mark of the week. Frame it. Study it. Never speak of it again. Zaid improves to 3-4. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. Issa is now 1-6, and the tape suggests that's generous.

Mustafa
(Team Mohammad)
124.4@142.5
Omar A.
(Ninjer)
Pregame · The Booth

The film doesn't lie, and unfortunately for one of these teams, I've watched it. Ninjer (3-3) versus Team Mohammad (4-2). Vegas calls this a pick'em. I call it mutually assured mediocrity. On to the action, where the points are made up and the projections don't matter.

Postgame · The Booth

Ninjer handles business, 142.5-124.4. Mustafa will tell you it was closer than the score. The score disagrees, and the score was there. Omar improves to 4-3. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. Mustafa drops to 4-3 and is officially in 'blame the projections' territory.

Adil
(Omar✅Yousef✅Oak Next)
110.6@123.3
Adel(RIP 💀)
(Be my Jaan Robinson)
Pregame · The Booth

You wanted analysis. I brought a scalpel. Omar✅Yousef✅Oak Next (4-2) is the clear favorite over Be my Jaan Robinson (2-4), and if you disagree, congratulations, you must be Adel. Be my Jaan Robinson has lost 3 straight, which by my math is 3 more consecutive losses than a competently managed franchise should allow. Let's see whose projections were lies.

Postgame · The Booth

Be my Jaan Robinson handles business, 123.3-110.6. Adil will tell you it was closer than the score. The score disagrees, and the score was there. And that, friends, is an upset. Adel came in at 2-4, looked across at Adil's 4-2 juggernaut, and simply did not care. Beautiful, chaotic, disrespectful football. Adel improves to 3-4. Credit where due, and I do mean the bare minimum of credit. Adil drops to 4-3 and is officially in 'blame the projections' territory.

Yousef
(Pirated CDs)
134.6@100.8
Tarick
(Shia Killer)
Pregame · The Booth

Grab your popcorn. One of these rosters was built by a genius, the other by a group chat dare. On paper this is a coin flip: Shia Killer at 4-2, Pirated CDs at 4-2. On tape, it's two teams praying the other starts the wrong flex. My prediction? Pain. Beautifully quantifiable pain.

Postgame · The Booth

Pirated CDs handles business, 134.6-100.8. Tarick will tell you it was closer than the score. The score disagrees, and the score was there. Yousef climbs to 5-2, and for one week, the film room has nothing bad to say. Enjoy the silence. Tarick drops to 4-3 and is officially in 'blame the projections' territory.

Okashah
(Mohammad's Dolphins Team)
150.1@100.2
Omar H.
(The Omar Effect)
Pregame · The Booth

You wanted analysis. I brought a scalpel. Omar (3-3) and Okashah (3-3) come in dead even on paper, which is a polite way of saying neither has earned my respect. The Omar Effect rides a 3-game heater into this one. Regression is undefeated, but sure, enjoy the moment. On to the action, where the points are made up and the projections don't matter.

Postgame · The Booth

Mohammad's Dolphins Team 150.1, The Omar Effect 100.2. In the film room we call that a 'teaching tape.' Omar, you were the lesson. That 150.1 from Mohammad's Dolphins Team led the entire league this week. Even I have to tip the cap. Briefly. It's back on now. Okashah moves to 4-3. A real analyst would call that momentum. I'll call it a stay of execution. Omar falls to 3-4. The good news: it can't get worse. The bad news: I said that last week too.
